A person who is born in Japan as the spouse or child of a permanent resident, etc., and has been residing in Japan since then
Examples of such persons include spouses of permanent residents or special permanent residents, and children born in Japan who continue to reside there.

  • P0001:Photo 1 leaf Reference(Prepared by Applicant)
    • Please submit in jpg format (maximum size: 50Kb).
    • If the applicant is under 16 years of age, this document will NOT be required.
  • P0606:One marriage certificate issued by an institution in the country of nationality (foreign country) of the spouse (permanent resident) and the applicant. You can also submit a family register issued by a foreign institution that shows your marriage.
    * If you have notified your marriage to a Japanese government office, you will need to submit a marriage registration acceptance certificate.(Prepared by Applicant)
    • P0591:(1) One copy each of the residence tax taxation (or tax exemption) certificate and tax payment certificate for the most recent year of the person who will pay the applicant's stay expenses (one copy stating the gross income and tax payment status for the past year)
      * As long as the certificate shows both the annual gross income and tax payment status (whether or not taxes have been paid), either one is acceptable.(Prepared by Applicant)
      • P0592:(2) Other
        * If you are unable to prove your stay expenses using the documents in (1) because you have just arrived in Japan or have moved, please submit the following documents.
        a Copy of savings passbook as appropriate
        * A copy of the screen of the web passbook (transaction history can be seen) is acceptable, however, it must be printed in a state that cannot be modified (Excel files etc. are not acceptable) .(Prepared by Applicant)
        • P0607:1 letter of guarantee for your spouse (permanent resident) *The guarantor must be a spouse (permanent resident) residing in Japan. Reference(Prepared by Applicant)
          • P0608:1 copy of the residence card with all members of the spouse's (permanent resident's) household listed

                Question

                When our office apply on behalf of foreign national, we will interview him/her with the following questions.

                • Were you engaged in activities consistent with your current status of residence?
                • Have you never been arrested or received any criminal penalties for violating the laws of our country? Or have you never done such an act?
                • Do you have National Health Insurance or Social Insurance? (Note) Failure to present your health insurance card will not disqualify you from changing your status of residence or extending your period of stay.
                • Is the applicant not a burden on the public in his or her daily life, and is the applicant expected to have a stable life in the future based on his or her assets or skills? (household unit)
                • Have you ever received a recommendation from a labor standards inspection agency for violating labor-related laws and regulations?
                • Are you fulfilling your tax obligations such as income tax and resident tax?
                • Are you fulfilling the notification obligations stipulated by the Immigration Control Act? (Notification regarding information on residence card, notification regarding affiliated organization, etc.)
