China Immigration Service Hotline Expands Multilingual Support

Starting November 26, 2024, China’s Immigration Service Hotline 12367 now supports Russian, Japanese, and Korean languages, in addition to Chinese and English. Users can choose their preferred language via voice prompts. For Russian, Japanese, and Korean, the hotline connects the user, an interpreter, and an operator to provide real-time, one-stop services. This initiative aims to enhance convenience for foreign nationals in China and visitors, while fostering a more international, business-friendly environment.

Overview and Impact of the Hotline

Launched by the National Immigration Administration (NIA) on April 8, 2021, the 12367 hotline integrates phone services, a dedicated app, WeChat and Alipay mini-programs, and a website to provide 24/7 support. It has received over 14 million inquiries from users in 156 countries and regions, achieving a 99.9% first-call resolution rate and a 98.6% satisfaction rate. The hotline plays a vital role in immigration management, promoting Chinese-foreign exchanges, and supporting economic and social development.

Future Plans

The NIA plans to further optimize the hotline by expanding service channels and introducing new features. These efforts aim to strengthen personnel exchanges between China and the world and support high-level opening-up and development.

This expansion highlights China’s commitment to providing accessible immigration services and enhancing international connectivity.
