Summary
To mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic normalization, Korea and Japan will trial special immigration checkpoints exclusively for each other’s nationals for 30 days starting next month, according to the Nikkei.

Japan-only lines will be set up at Seoul’s Gimpo and Busan’s Gimhae airports, while Korea-only lines will be established at Tokyo’s Haneda and Fukuoka airports. The goal is to speed up immigration for tourists from both countries. This is Japan's first time creating country-specific immigration lines. Both governments will consider making the system permanent based on the trial’s outcome, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties through increased people-to-people exchange.
