Come January, Chennai airport all set to have quicker immigration clearance with Fast Track Immigration system

Summary: Starting in January 2025, Chennai Airport will introduce the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme, allowing passengers who are registered and verified in the system to pass through immigration quickly by swiping their passports at e-gates. To use this service, Indian nationals and OCI cardholders must register online, provide biometric data, and undergo verification. Once registered, passengers can use the e-gates for faster immigration clearance on future travels. The airport is equipped with eight e-gates (four in the departure hall and four in the arrival hall). This system is designed to reduce wait times, particularly during peak arrival times when multiple flights land simultaneously.
