Trump says India 'will do what's right' on illegal immigration

Both leaders also discussed cooperation in technology, trade, investment, energy, and defense, as well as security in the Indo-Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe. Trump emphasized the need for India to increase its purchase of US-made security equipment and work toward a "fair" trade relationship.

Modi called Trump a "dear friend" and highlighted their commitment to a mutually beneficial partnership. The two also reiterated their dedication to strengthening the strategic partnership and the Quad alliance, which includes the US, India, Japan, and Australia. While Trump’s previous term saw tensions over tariffs, both leaders expressed optimism about overcoming trade and immigration challenges moving forward.
