Summary
Recent UK immigration fee increases, announced on March 19, 2025, will affect a wide range of visa categories, settlement applications, and immigration-related services. The changes, which come into effect on April 9, 2025, include a 10% rise in visitor visa fees, with short-term visas increasing from £115 to £127, and long-term visas seeing significant hikes (e.g., 2-year visas from £432 to £475, 5-year visas from £772 to £848, and 10-year visas from £963 to £1,059).
Worker application and sponsorship fees will also rise by 7%, with in-country applications increasing from £827 to £885, and Certificates of Sponsorship for workers rising to £525. Other visa types, such as the private medical treatment visa and transit visas, will see increases as well.
Work-related visas, including the Innovator Founder visa and Start-up visa, will experience fee hikes, with the Innovator Founder visa rising from £1,191 to £1,274. Global Talent visa fees will also increase, with the main applicant's fee rising from £192 to £205 and dependants' fees increasing from £716 to £766.
These fee adjustments are part of the UK government's efforts to manage immigration costs and ensure that application processing expenses are adequately covered. Detailed information on the new fees can be found on the UK government website.
