Summary
In September 2025, several regions announced major immigration policy updates. In the United States, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” introduces new and higher fees: the I-94 land entry record will cost USD 30 in total, ESTA fees increase from USD 21 to USD 40, and Chinese nationals holding 10-year B1/B2 visas must now pay a USD 30 EVUS enrollment fee.

In the Asia-Pacific region, China will allow Russian citizens visa-free entry for up to 30 days between September 15, 2025, and September 14, 2026.

In Europe, the Czech Republic passed legislation effective January 2026 that enables deportation of foreigners committing three serious misdemeanors within a year and grants police broader powers to access mobile phone data when identification is refused. The measure aims to speed up asylum processing and strengthen public order.

France has raised salary thresholds for “Talent” visa categories. Qualified employees now require a minimum annual gross salary of EUR 39,582, while EU Blue Card holders must meet EUR 59,373. These changes apply immediately to new applications and renewals, and failure to comply could lead to withdrawal of residence permits.
